The Challenge
Most on-demand laundry apps fail at two points: booking friction and brand credibility. Users expect unreliable pickups, hidden pricing, and clunky flows. Wash It needed both solved simultaneously.
Complex booking experience causing drop-off before order completion
No transparent pricing until the final checkout step
Poor mobile responsiveness across devices
Weak trust signals creating hesitation on product pages
No clear brand differentiation from low-cost competitors
The brief was clear: build something that feels premium without feeling inaccessible.
The Solution
We led the end-to-end experience, brand system, UX strategy, and interface design — treating them as a single integrated problem rather than separate workstreams.
Simplified the booking flow to three steps: Location → Service Selection → Confirmation. Introduced transparent, item-based pricing in step one to build trust before commitment. Designed a calm, premium brand tone using Deep Crimson and Charcoal with 40+ custom service icons. Built a responsive component library for iOS and Android with WCAG AA accessibility compliance throughout. Structured the interface for repeat usage, not just first-time orders.
The Result
Booking completion rate nearly doubled compared to industry benchmarks, with users completing orders in under 90 seconds. The transparent pricing model significantly reduced cart abandonment, while the premium brand system successfully differentiated Wash It from low-cost competitors in usability testing.
